Discovering Ted
From what age can you adopt Ted?
Ted is designed for children from age 3. Setup and charging must be done by an adult.
Is there a subscription?
No. Normal use of Ted is included with the purchase, with no monthly fees.
How does my child talk to Ted?
They can press the button to talk, or use auto-listen mode. You choose the mode in the parent app.
Setup & everyday use
Do I need to install an app?
Yes, to connect Ted to Wi-Fi and choose language, volume and conversation mode. Once setup is done, your child can talk to Ted without using your phone.
Does Ted need the internet?
Yes, a Wi-Fi connection is required for conversations. An adult sets this up in the app on first use.
How do I manage my child’s experience?
The app lets you set language, volume and conversation mode. Ted is a toy that uses AI: an adult remains the best guide for a child’s discoveries.
How do I charge Ted?
With the USB-C cable. Allow about two hours for a full charge. Battery life can reach up to seven days and varies with use. Charging must be done by an adult.
AI & safety
How does Ted use artificial intelligence?
Ted uses AI to generate spoken answers from your child’s questions. He can chat, tell stories and explore new ideas. His answers may include mistakes: an adult remains the best guide for discoveries.
Does Ted have a camera?
No. Ted talks through a microphone and speaker, with no camera.

Ted understands and replies in more than 60 languages, including French, English, Spanish, German and Italian.
